Print technologist
Print technologists make duplicates of originals and produce high-quality prints. They control the printing press to ensure that the multi-colour illustrations and text are printed in perfect, consistent quality.
Since no job is the same as any other, the work is varied and challenging. With digitisation and the computer-controlled offset printing press, the job of a print technologist is rapidly becoming a high-tech profession.
Print technologists have excellent colour discrimination and rapid reactions. They have extensive technical knowledge and can work accurately and neatly. They are team players, have a good grasp of ideas and are responsible and reliable. The training for print technologists takes four years to complete.
